2024 Richmond Summer Solstice Soccer Festival

1st Annual Richmond Summer Soltice Soccer Festival 2024

Richmond United Football Club, located in Richmond, BC, Canada, will be hosting its inaugural Summer Solstice Soccer Festival for the U8-U13 age groups.  Presented by Recycle Your Batteries, Canada!, the two day festival will take place on June 22-23, 2024.

This BC Soccer sanctioned event is open to girls and boys teams U8 (2016) to U13 (2011) and will offer development divisions (Development 1, 2, & 3). All teams are  guaranteed 4 games (2 each day).

Games will take place at various artificial turf and grass fields in Richmond. All teams are guaranteed 4 games (2 each day). This is a grassroots, non-competitive festival - scores will not be collected and there will be no standings. All participants will receive a festival t-shirt.


U8 Dev 1, 2 & 3 = 2016 and younger (6v6) 2 x 20 minute halves
U9 Dev 1, 2 & 3 = 2015 and younger (7v7) 2 x 20 minute halfs
U10 Dev 1, 2 & 3 = 2014 and younger ("U11 Intake" 8v8) 2 x 25 minute halfs
U11 Dev 1, 2 & 3 = 2013 and younger (8v8) 2 x 30 minute halfs
U12 Dev 1, 2 & 3 = 2012 and younger ("U13 Intake" 9v9) 2 x 30 minute halfs
U13 Dev 1, 2 & 3 = 2011 and younger ("U14 Intake" 11v11) 2 x 35 minute halfs

**The Festival Organizing Committee reserves the right to collapse age groups/divisions where required. Team coaches will be informed.


Refunds are provided up to June 9 subject to a $75 administration fee. NO REFUNDS ARE PROVIDED AFTER JUNE 9.


Games will be scheduled 9am-8pm on Saturday and Sunday. Festival pools will be, to the best of the scheduler's ability, in a time frame such that your team's two games per day fall within a 4-hour window, such as 9am-12pm, 12pm-4pm, 4-8pm. Teams will have at least a 1 hour break between games.


Teams must be your regular "club" team. No stacked tournament teams. This is a grassroots, non-competitive festival.

Academy teams must enter the highest level and tier of an age group, e.g., U11 Dev 1 A.

Team/Player Eligibility:

As a BC Soccer sanctioned tournament, entry into the Richmond Summer Solstice Soccer Festival is open to teams that are properly affiliated with BC Soccer and/or other Provincial Associations. “Tournament Teams” are not permitted.

Teams from outside of BC must provide copies of approved travel documents, prior to the Festival, for their team/players from the Province of which they belong.

Only properly registered players, in good standing, shall be permitted to participate in the Festival.

Guest Players:

Teams may use a “pick-up”/guest player (e.g., a player who does not regularly play on your team) so long as the following criteria are met:

–> A player is not on the roster of another team participating in the Festival. A player can only play on one team in the Festival.

–> Player must be from same or lower division. Players cannot “play down”.

–> If a team is from BC and the player is not registered with BC Soccer, the team must apply for a BC Soccer Short Term Event Player Permit for the player by June 9 (the last day to enter your team roster).

–> Teams participating in the Solstice Festival, wishing to “pick-up” a player registered with another team, must obtain written permission from the team & Youth District and/or Adult League with which the player is registered. Players registered with BC Soccer must use the BC Soccer Player Participation Request Form. This must be submitted to the Festival by June 9.

Team Rosters:

Team Rosters must be uploaded in the tournament system by June 9.


The schedule will be available be available one week before the Festival begins - Saturday June 15th. It will be posted and sent out to the main email contact.


RUFC uses the TeamSnap for Tournaments registration system. Payment is by credit card only.
